Midi-dresses are like the modern, sexy yet classy take on 60′s housewives’ dresses. Though they can be worn with flats, I prefer them worn with heels because it accentuates calf muscles, elongates the body, and prevents the potentially awkward looking cut from making a body look stubby.

LOOK #1: Art Deco- This is a look that I would totally wear to an art museum gallery opening or something. The tangerine color is so bright and cheery, so to offset, but still complement it, I paired it with a darker shoe that matches the splotches on the dress. A  Chanel bag is always a classic (and classy) way to pull together an outfit.

LOOK #2: You’re the Bee’s Knees- Look like a feminine yet rocker bumble bee in this outfit. I love this look because the dress is soft and innocent looking, but the shoes and bag give it a tougher edge. I can’t even begin to fathom the things that I would do to have those fabulous mesh swirl shoes in my closet. Bib necklaces like the cascading metal trio necklace shown here are great to wear with high necklines because they make it less conservative.

LOOK #3: Butterfly, Fly Away- This is a perfect outfit for an upscale Sunday picnic, graduation party, or bridal shower. The muted gray can be admittedly a little drab, but the colorful butterflies at the bottom give it colorful flair. The bright blue heel adds a pop of color that will definitely put a spring in your step.

Stay glamorous. Rawk on.
